Northern Classic State Show 2017- Sugarland Horse Park Woodland, CA

It’s that time again, CGA friends and family! Time for our annual Northern Classic State Show, held at Sugarland Horse Park in Woodland, CA. This event is hosted by District 4- Circle D Horsemen. This show will be held over Memorial Day weekend, running all 13 events at least once (with some events being run twice). KEEP IN MIND: This event will hold a 5-D jackpot in each event. Don’t forget to sign up for jackpots and earn lots of extra cash, in addition to high point.

WIN A FREE ENTRY TO NORTHERN CLASSIC (even though you’ve already paid) Here’s how:
We’ll be raffling tickets to win a cash reimbursement up to $125 of your fees. See ticket for rules and details.
$5 per ticket
Tickets will be sold at all D4 and D49 shows between now and Northern Classic as well as at Northern Classic.
Winner will be announced during the awards ceremony on Monday.

We’ll also be holding a 50/50 raffle and a raffle for a beautiful, handmade quilt (will be on display at Northern).

****There will be 3 arenas being run throughout each day. Please keep in mind that you will ride in arena 1, then go to arena 2, then arena 3. In that order.

Schedule of Events:

FRIDAY
Gates open at 12 pm.
NO ENTRY BEFORE 12 pm. (Timmi Lemen will be our parking lot director to help with camp spot selection, directions and rules)
Sign up booth opens at 12:30 pm.
Set ups start at 4 pm. Order of events TBD.
Pony measurements will be available AFTER set ups are finished, location TBA.

SATURDAY
Pony measurements will be available at 8 am- location TBA
MANDATORY riders meeting at 8:30 am.
Opening Colors and Grand Entry Ceremony at 8:45 am. Wear your district colors and fly your district flags high!
Regular show starts at 9 am
Meet & Greet potluck get-together- 2 hours after last event in front of snack bar. Bring a dish to share and bring your own drinks.

SUNDAY
Regular show starts at 9 am.
Wacky/Tacky day! Wear your wackiest socks over your pants and you’ll be placed into a raffle for a mystery prize! Last year was Jamba Juice gift card…this year- who knows!
Team Events- 2 man speedball and 2 man ribbon race- After regular show/ $5 per team, sign up the day of event. Must be a CGA member to ride in team events.
Welcome Wagon/Glow Party/Zombie Crawl/Camp Hop- 8:30 pm

MONDAY
*Memorial Day Tribute 7:15 am
Red/White/Blue themed day so be as patriotic as possible!
Regular show starts at 8 am.
Awards Ceremony and announce winner of raffles- following last event

*Sally Rivera Lingafeldt is in charge of the Memorial Day ceremony so if you are interested in carrying a flag, please email her at: Deccoranch@softcom.net. Please note that this is a very respected and prestigious honor to carry a flag during a ceremony honoring our past and present veterans so please be sure that both yourself and your horse have experience carrying a flag and will be comfortable and confident in your abilities.

Stalls are available by clicking the link below to reserve directly with Sugarland Horse Park or you may choose to bring your own portable panels. PLEASE limit your portable stalls to 12×12 to ensure there is enough room for everyone.
There is NO tying to your trailer overnight.

RULES: (just a few)
NO tying to your trailer overnight. Your horse must be in a portable corral or stall provided by SHP.
NO arrival before 12 pm on Friday.
NO washing horses outside of the wash racks.
NO dogs off leashes.
NO division changes after the first event starts.
NO refunds after June 9, 2017
NO refunds without medical or vet certificates
NO riding out of your rated division (must sign up in your rated div)
NO schooling rides or schooling while on course (state show rules)
NO bad attitudes or complaining- be a part of the solution!

Please keep in mind that this is a HUGE event, with lots of moving parts and from time to time, things may not go as planned. Sometimes changes need to be made so be patient, give a helping hand and understand that this is possible due to all volunteers. The more we all help, the faster and more smoothly the show will go. Most of all, HAVE FUN!
