Our first show of the season was fantastic! The weather
was beautiful, and the ground blazing fast. Thank goodness for a
working water truck and tractor. We had around 50 riders, including a
lot of new faces. Four arena records were broke, and 2 supreme runs
ran, not to mention numerous plus times. Congratulations Roquel
Merrick who broke three arena records and ran a supreme in Big T in
the pony division & Chrystal Moore who broke an arena record for Big
T. Also a big “you go girl” to Diane Williamson for a Supreme run in
Barrels on her horse Whiskey. It was a beautiful thing to watch. There
were no shortage of judges and volunteers, making the show smooth as
silk. We even ran a couple set ups. Chrystal Moore, who recently made
Hall of Fame, completed all thirteen events with plus times finishing
out Keyhole.
Thank you to all who
volunteered their time and energy to keep this show moving so well. A
special thank you to Debra and Neal Weaver (Sydney too) for sponsoring
our first show in addition to helping fix our water truck, snack shack
door, providing a water pump and getting our arena ready for the first
show. Circle D members pooled their resources making the arena, club
house, and surrounding grounds in tip top condition. It’s wonderful to
see us pull together to make things happen. I for one am very proud of
our members.
The snack shack was a
huge hit with the Hampton family and friends making delicious meals
for breakfast and lunch. If you are interested in volunteering for a
show to man the snack shack please contact Bev Hampton. It’s pretty
easy.
The show ended with
Chrystal Moore getting the traditional Hall of Fame mud bath.
The next show is May
10th. This is the first half of our Western Ranch Classic.
The show manager will be Barb Stocking. |
